As a legal advisor in the banking sector, for more than 40 years, Dr. AbdelGadir’s main duties include, inter alia:
- Advising on legal matters covering different local and international laws.
- Drafting and interpretation of laws, regulations and banking policies.
- Drafting and interpretation of international and local contracts, loan agreements for retail, SMEs and corporations.
- Project finance documentation.. Reviewing documentary credits, LCs, bank guarantees, cash management, and remittance transfers.
- Drafting and advising on E-banking transactions.
- Treasury and investment documentation and contracts.
- Loan Syndication Contracts.
- Preparing and advising on risk management policies.
- Study, advice, prepare and follow-up on litigation cases and appearance before Courts in many Countries including all the Gulf Countries (GCC), London, Malaysia, and India where many good results & favorable decisions were achieved & documented.
- Participated in local and international arbitration cases and adjudication including ICC – Paris, London, Dubai, Bahrain, and India.
- Giving an opinion to the Board of Directors & Senior Executive on Corporate Governance Rules, Compliance and Implementation of Regulatory Rules and Directives.
- Attending General Assembly meetings to advice, as required, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Shareholders and Regulators on all legal corporate issues and shareholders’ interests.
- Representing banks in meetings with Regulators and different Gov. or private local & international institutions.
In addition to Dr. AbdelGadir’s daily professional practice, he has an academic background as a Professor of Law in many Universities and Higher Institutes, where he teaches banking, corporate business laws, international law, IT laws, contract law, company laws, agency laws, conflict resolutions, and more.
All banks Dr. AbdelGadir has worked for, have greatly benefited from the inter-marriage between his long practical experience and know-how coupled with the benefit from his direct involvement in the latest academic developments and research, where the same applies to his current and future clients.
A regular writer of articles and research papers in many newspapers and legal reviews, Dr. AbdelGadir has published several books in Arabic and English covering Legal Banking Corporate issues (available in bookshops). He is also a regular speaker in many international and regional conferences and seminars covering different Legal Financial Corporate issues.
